CIOTA (Shiota: est. 2019 a/w)
CIOTA is a clothing maker founded by Shiota Co., ltd
which is a garment factory / fabric manufacturing and
sales company based in Okayama.
CIOTA carries out whole process of making clothes in-house,
from selecting material, textile design, weaving fabric,
designing clothing, sewing methods to sewing clothing,
and being particular about all process completely.
To give an example, the cotton fabric is all CIOTA’s original.
CIOTA takes up Suvin cotton* as main material that is grown in South India, and quite rare product because the cotton could be taken
only a few percent of whole amount of production in the world.
CIOTA’s exclusive cotton fabric always made of Suvin cotton.
It shines like silk and the touches are like cashmere.
High quality fabric gives inspiration.
CIOTA designs not at trend but follow the inspiration of fabric.
The simple design highlights characters of fabric.
CIOTA makes basic collections in-house with high quality material.
*Suvin cotton is a hybrid with SUJATA cotton originally from India and
Sea-island cotton grown in St. VINCENT in Caribbean.
“Suvin” is named after the first letters of “SUJATA” and “VINCENT”.
It is categorized as extra-ling staple cotton.
It has very long and delicate fibers, so the yarn becomes very smoothly.
Handpicking also the key to keep the quality.
